Safe, Effective Ice Dam Removal for Alaska Homes
During the winter (especially when we get a lot of snow!), ice dams can form along roof edges, and/or roof valleys, trapping water. This build up can potentially lead to leaks, warped shingles, and interior damage. In extreme cases, the ice dams can tear off gutters! On metal roofs, the formation of ice dams and/or improper removal can permanently dent panels.
Our professional steam method safely clears ice without damaging roofing or gutters—no chisels, hammers, or risk. It’s the smart way to protect your home and stay safe this winter.
What are ice dams?
Ice dams form when melting snow refreezes at the roof’s edge, blocking water from draining. This trapped water can leak under shingles and damage your home, while the heavy ice can also tear off gutters.
Do you offer free estimates?
We do for every service except ice dam removal. Because the snow has to be cleared to see the full extent of the ice, it’s not possible to provide an accurate estimate beforehand.
Fair Pricing
Ice dam removal may seem costly, but the price reflects the risks, physical labor, and expertise required to remove heavy ice safely. Most ice dams are cleared at a rate of about one hour per 10 linear feet, with most jobs taking 1–3 hours including setup and cleanup. Large ice sections are safely removed and never left in walkways or driveways. Investing in professional removal now can help prevent thousands of dollars in future damage.
Ice Dam Removal: $595/hour. $595 minimum (does not include whole roof snow shoveling)
Roof Snow Shoveling: $135/hour. $270 minimum (whole roof, no ice dam removal)
Both of the above services include the cleanup of snow and ice that may fall onto pathways, walkways, and driveways during service. You may let us know if you'd like to take care of the ground cleanup yourself to reduce cost.
